Same favorite dishes with a unique taste

When we are talking about North Indian food, there will be Palak Paneer, Paneer Lababdaar, Chats and so on. They taste the same in all restaurants – well, most of the times.

In Indian Express, there’s a twist added to the Flavours and the same dishes taste even better. Remember, it’s not just North Indian cuisine but North Indian and Lakhnawi. (Lucknow is a prominent city in the North India famous for its rich heritage in food and culture). So, The menu is predominantly North Indian with focus on the famed Nawabi cuisine of Lucknow.

So, while talking to the Chef Ajay, I got to know that lots of authentic herbs and spices go into making these dishes, Long marination process is followed and ingredients are always fresh.

Starter like Veg sheek kabaab – picture number 1 below – is made from chopped veggies, marinated in cream and spices and roasted in tandoor.

Another starter Sufyani Paneer Tikka – picture number 2 below – is marinated for 24 hrs using spices and mustard oil. That mustard oil adds very nice and unique fragrance to it. Personally I loved this!

Chat items like Sev Puri – picture number 3 – were quite tasty too.

As a restaurant-goer, I would always want fresh dishes. Indian Express didn’t disappoint on that point. Right from drinks and starters to main course, food was fresh and made to order. The staff was smiling and swift and attended to the customers promptly.

Indian Express is from the same people who gave us Michelin-star Song of India

Woot woot!!! Another restaurant from the Song of India people? Bring it on, guys. Song of India is a pure delight for any taste buds and that backs Indian Express too. So quality and variety? No compromise at all. Corporate Chef Manjunath Mural has conceptualized the healthy, tasty menu with a twist for Indian Express as well. That gives me a lot of trust and confidence in Indian Express as a customer.

On another note, read my review of iconic Song of India here.

Cool place to chill out with family and friends

Okay, lemme give you a perfect Friday night or Weekend plan – for families of course – Visit Little India / Farrer Park, Buy your weekly Indian Groceries and then the mom don’t have to go home and cook. Take her to Indian Express for delish lunch / dinner. Perfect after lots of shopping!

OR

Ladies, plan meetups with your friends and kids here. Like what I did. Eat, Laugh and Talk and Repeat.

OR

Guys, after office meet your friends here over a drink and great food to go with it. Take your wife’s permission though. Lol.

Vegetarians for you, there’s a great and separate menu in Indian Express. Palak Paneer and Paneer Kadai both were mouth watering and yet not heavy on tummy.

Assorted Naans and Rotis were easy to chew. Why I mention this? because in some other places, I have eaten Naans that are like leather – too hard to break.

The place is clean, neat and located on the happening Race Course Road.

Value for your precious $$$

We can’t really go to fine dining place every day but we still need that great taste without any baggage of high prices. Then you should try Indian Express for sure. Prices are just perfect according to me and there’s wide range of drinks, main courses available for all – Alcohol / Non-alcohol, Vegetarian / Meat eaters/ Seafood lovers.

So far, the only “Indian” food we have tried are pratas and Briyani. Kids not really adventurous enough 🙂
