Young Readers titles should be reviewed by young readers – My opinion! Kids have very vibrant world of imagination and emotions so the way they read and interpret books could be a bit or drastically different than adults. My daughter is a book-eater and she loves to sleep, read and eat books. Lol. So, whenever she receives new books, she jumps in excitement and starts “munching” them asap!
She reviewed these 2 books recently. Let’s read what she says about them. As a parent, I found the titles great. Their paper quality is too good and font size n all is not straining to the eyes. Of course, the content is top class.
FROGKISSER! A MAGICAL ROMP OF A FAIRYTALE
Poor Princess Anya. Forced to live with her evil stepmother’s new husband, her evil step-step-father. Plagued with an unfortunate ability to break curses with a magic-assisted kiss. And forced to go on the run when her step-step-father decides to make the kingdom entirely his own. Aided by a loyal talking dog, a boy thief trapped in the body of a newt, and some extraordinarily mischievous wizards, Anya sets off on a Quest that, if she plays it right, will ultimately free her land-and teach her a thing or two about the use of power, the effectiveness of a well-placed pucker, and the
finding of friends in places both high and low. With Frogkisser!, acclaimed bestselling author Garth Nix has conjured a fantastical tale for all ages, full of laughs and danger, surprises and delights, and an immense population of frogs.
It’s 50% fairy tale, 50% fantasy, and 100% pure enjoyment from start to finish.
Eeshaa’s review: Frogkisser is a really wonderful and detailed book. In this book, the main protagonist Anya who is a witty yet a clever princess who is not your typical princessy princess. It is thrilling and a very good book book by its author Garth Nix. His writing style is fluent and I liked how he incorporates many of the original story’s components while adding his own.
It makes the reader feel like you are actually a character the book. My Favourite character is Gotfried because his character is interesting and someone who allows flow for creativity.
In a nutshell, I will give big thumbs up to this book. I would like to see more magical romps of original fairy tales. I highly recommend this book for children of my age.
