{Book Review} Our Kid Blogger reviews Frogkisser and Tom Gates 10

Young Readers titles should be reviewed by young readers – My opinion! Kids have very vibrant world of imagination and emotions so the way they read and interpret books could be a bit or drastically different than adults. My daughter is a book-eater and she loves to sleep, read and eat books. Lol. So, whenever she receives new books, she jumps in excitement and starts “munching” them asap!

She reviewed these 2 books recently. Let’s read what she says about them. As a parent, I found the titles great. Their paper quality is too good and font size n all is not straining to the eyes. Of course, the content is top class.

FROGKISSER! A MAGICAL ROMP OF A FAIRYTALE

Synopsis:

Poor Princess Anya. Forced to live with her evil stepmother’s new husband, her evil step-step-father. Plagued with an unfortunate ability to break curses with a magic-assisted kiss. And forced to go on the run when her step-step-father decides to make the kingdom entirely his own. Aided by a loyal talking dog, a boy thief trapped in the body of a newt, and some extraordinarily mischievous wizards, Anya sets off on a Quest that, if she plays it right, will ultimately free her land-and teach her a thing or two about the use of power, the effectiveness of a well-placed pucker, and the
finding of friends in places both high and low. With Frogkisser!, acclaimed bestselling author Garth Nix has conjured a fantastical tale for all ages, full of laughs and danger, surprises and delights, and an immense population of frogs.
It’s 50% fairy tale, 50% fantasy, and 100% pure enjoyment from start to finish.

Eeshaa’s review: Frogkisser is a really wonderful and detailed book. In this book, the main protagonist Anya who is a witty yet a clever princess who is not your typical princessy princess. It is thrilling and a very good book book by its author Garth Nix. His writing style is fluent and I liked how he incorporates many of the original story’s components while adding his own.

It makes the reader feel like you are actually a character the book. My Favourite character is Gotfried because his character is interesting and someone who allows flow for creativity.

In a nutshell, I will give big thumbs up to this book. I would like to see more magical romps of original fairy tales. I highly recommend this book for children of my age.

Tom Gates 10: SUPER GOOD SKILLS (ALMOST)

Synopsis: Look out! Tom, Delia and the whole Gates family are going on holiday. How will Tom manage to keep himself busy on the most boring campsite ever? By doodling, of course! An exciting new story – with doodle your own elements! – From award-winning and best-selling author Liz Pichon.

Eeshaa’s review: Tom Gates 10 is an interesting yet quirky book which allows its readers to experience his failed yet humorous life and vacation . It’s starts out with his  perfect holiday which was painstakingly planned by his parents and ends with his conclusion.
It is brightened with lively doodles which makes you improve and add finesse to your doodling skills. It is a blend of doodles ,humor and fun.My Favourite character in this story is the extremely nonchalant – Delia whose nonchalance is funny and also depicts typical teenage stereotypes. This book is recommended by me as it will lighten your day tremendously.
Thanks for reading my reviews. ♥
