Garden Picks – For that much needed pick-up throughout the day…

Adopting healthy lifestyle starts by eating right! We all know this but a bit difficult to follow for me at least. I munch on anything and everything…healthy and junk both!! Bad actually because the benefits of healthy food is taken away cruelly by the junk that I gobble down.

Garden Picks – The Dried Fruits and Nuts Company reminded me to be on track when they sent me this box of healthy goodies consisting of dried fruits, nuts and seeds. I tried them out, tasted them and liked them!!

Coming straight to the point, let me share more about the goodness that Garden Picks offer!

This is what I got for try-out:

Black Forest Granola

This pack I tried out first and liked the most! I loved it because this the Granola version of my favorite Black Forest Cake.

Consisting of Toasted oats mixed with chocolate buttons, coconut chips, tangy cranberries, honey and vanilla essence, it’s absolutely delicious when eaten by the mouthful. An energizing snack when you are busy or on-the-go!

The coconut chips that are added to this pack taste awesomely crunchy and yummy. I ate it just like that – from the pack to the mouth! Did you notice the zip lock the pack has? Good no? Easy to store, easy to open and easy to eat.

Superfood Granola (Chia)

Chia seeds we all know is called as “Superfood”. It makes you feel full for longer time and hence can be used when you are on diet. Chia seeds also have been known to increase energy level and are loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and various micro nutrients which support the immune system.

Superfood Granola (Chia) is one of the easiest ways to get your superfood fix is with tasty granola. You can try some recipes with it. Example: I added some portion of it to Banana Smoothie. Tastes great!! Kids will love it too…

Superfood Granola (Quinoa)

This version of Granola contains another superfood – Quinoa seeds!

It goes perfect with almost anything that shouts wholesome and delicious – yogurt, fruits, almond milk. This Superfood Granola (Quinoa) pack comes loaded with plant-based proteins, lovingly mixed with berries, currants and seeds, and lightly dusted with coconut, to fuel you up.

This dash of coconut that Garden Picks have added to its snack packs really make it drool-worthy…

Black Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help to raise HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol that helps protect against heart attack and stroke). Chia seeds are also rich in antioxidants and full of fibre, magnesium, zinc, iron and calcium.

You can use this pack to make delish Chia seeds recipe. I am trying out some of these.

Organic Tri-Color Quinoa

This power food, though often referred to as a grain, quinoa is actually a seed from a vegetable related to Swiss chard, spinach and beets. High in protein with nine essential amino acids, this seed is not fattening and it is a smart carb, meaning complex carbohydrate with a low glycemic index, so it won’t spike your blood sugar.

g9Again, loads of recipes can be made from Quinoa seeds. Sprinkle them on your salads or use them in smoothies OR make patties for your healthy burgers. Options are way too many.

  • Garden Picks packs that I tried out were absolutely very fresh and crunchy. Refrigerate them to keep the freshness intact.

  • You can taste the high-quality ingredients lingering on your taste-buds.

  • I also found that they keep you full for longer time and you can actually use it as meal replacement. I am going to work on this point more to confirm.

  • The zip lock makes it very convenient to carry when you are on-the-go.

  • It would be great if Garden Picks mention more detailed nutritional info on the packs. Like fat contents, protein contents etc.

What an amazing package to receive. These are expensive stuff. I have tasted Chia and liked it, I did not know you could buy a whole bag of it like this. Quinoa I have long heard of, but I never tasted it yet.
